My Story

My name is Dave, and I have proudly worked within the stonemasonry industry for over 40 years. Stonemasonry is not just my profession — it is a craft I have dedicated my life to. Over the decades, I have built a wealth of experience and knowledge, working with thousands of customers on a wide range of projects, from simple bespoke pieces to large-scale custom stonework.

Throughout my career, I have always taken enormous pride in delivering work of the highest standard. I believe that every piece of stonework should be crafted with care, precision, and attention to detail, no matter the size of the project. My aim has always been to create work that not only looks beautiful but is built to last for generations.

Over the years, I have developed extensive knowledge in all areas of stonemasonry and stone fabrication. I specialise in the manufacture and installation of bespoke worktops, hearths, fireplaces, memorial pieces, hand-carved lettering, decorative stone designs, and many other custom stone features. I also have the ability to hand carve lettering and intricate designs, using traditional techniques that have become increasingly rare within the industry today. This level of craftsmanship allows me to create truly personal and unique pieces tailored to each customer’s vision.

Working with natural stone requires patience, skill, and understanding, and after more than four decades in the trade, I have gained a deep appreciation and respect for the materials I work with. Every project is different, and I enjoy helping customers choose the right stone, design, and finish to achieve exactly what they are looking for.

For many years, I proudly ran the family stonemasonry business alongside my wife, Gill. Together, we built a trusted and respected reputation based on honesty, reliability, quality workmanship, and excellent customer care. Much of our work came through recommendations and returning customers, something I have always considered one of the greatest compliments in this industry.

Today, I continue to work alongside my daughter Samantha and my son-in-law Matthew, continuing the family tradition and passing on the knowledge and skills I have gained throughout my lifetime in stonemasonry. It means a great deal to me to see the business continue as a family trade, with the same values and commitment to quality that have always been important to me.

I believe that customer service is every bit as important as craftsmanship. I always strive to make customers feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process, from the first conversation through to the finished piece. I am known for my warm and welcoming personality, professional manner, and willingness to always go above and beyond to help in any way I can. I understand that every customer and every project is unique, and I always take the time to listen carefully and offer honest advice based on experience.

Over the years, I have worked on countless projects for homes, memorials, gardens, fireplaces, kitchens, and bespoke commissions, each one approached with the same level of dedication and pride. Seeing a customer happy with the finished result is still one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

After more than 40 years in the industry, my passion for stonemasonry remains as strong as ever. I take great pride in continuing to provide traditional craftsmanship combined with high standards of service and professionalism. Whether creating a hand-carved memorial, a bespoke fireplace, a custom worktop, or a unique decorative feature, I am committed to producing stonework that customers can be proud of for many years to come.
